Game drives

Game drives explore Liwonde’s riverine floodplains and woodland or Nyika’s broad grasslands, valleys and forest edges. At Liwonde, the drier months bring more open vegetation and draw wildlife towards remaining water. On Nyika, eland, roan and zebra move across the grasslands, while reedbuck and bushbuck may appear along valleys and forest edges. Drives are available from Mvuu Camp, Mvuu Lodge, Chelinda Camp and Chelinda Lodge.

Plan around your interests

Day drives bring landscape, tracks and wildlife into context. After sunset, changing sounds and more secretive species reveal another side of the parks. On Nyika, serval, hyena, side-striped jackal, porcupine and leopard are present, but no particular sighting is promised. Every outing depends on the season, conditions and natural movement of wildlife.
