Guests visiting Mvuu Camp and Lodge in Liwonde National Park, can now sign up for photography workshops, which are being conducted by international field guide Frank Weitzer. Frank has a keen eye and knack for wildlife photography, coupled with a wealth of field experience. You can view his impressive portfolio by clicking here, and to learn more about him and his incredible experiences in the wilderness, click here.
These interactive courses will enable our guests to sharpen their wildlife and landscape photography skills and learn more about key techniques and approaches to taking striking photographs whilst on safari. The workshops will cover a broad range of areas and will help you to familiarize yourself with your gear, learn all about exposure, auto focus, composition, filters, as well as digital darkroom techniques. You will also be guided on how to approach wildlife and identify and interpret animal behaviour whilst capturing them in the wilderness.
Wildlife photography is certainly one of the more challenging types of photography as it involves documenting various species and forms of wildlife in their natural habitats. Aside from acute technical skills, it requires discerning field skills and an awareness of your surroundings, to successfully capture different species.
The workshops will be running until mid-June and cost 50 per person. Guests will be required to pay standard accommodation rates and park fees as well. If you would like to participate in these workshops and are interested in honing and fine-tuning your skills in this exciting genre of photography, please do make a booking in advance to avoid disappointment! We also offer special student and teacher packages for school groups that are interested in visiting Liwonde to participate in these courses.
