Central African Wilderness Safaris recently hosted Joanna Codrington and her friends, and took them on an epic adventure across Malawi. Joanna was born in Malawi and lived in the country in the 1950s and 60s. She returned after decades with a few friends from the U.K and put together a detailed travelogue that covers the highlights of her journey and her experiences. Her report encapsulates so much of what makes a holiday in Malawi so unique and memorable.
Here’s her feedback about the trip:
“I’m not sure where to start with thanking you for such a wonderful trip- for me I think I can say it was the best ever- full of surprises and fun. Every day was a treat as we trekked around the wonderful country and bumped along those roads- everywhere, we enjoyed the warmest of welcomes and those big smiles- not grasping or begging but somehow accepting of life as it is. The guides were all excellent- and as for you Chris, how lovely that you had such an intimate knowledge of the country and the people. The accommodation was so varied that one cannot compare- but just relish the memories of long drops with a view, meals cooked on quaint little stoves, picnics balanced on rocks above a roaring torrent, going to bed in the glow of solar powered lights, getting up with the dawn, piping hot baths and funny showers from a bucket.”
