Excellent cheetah sightings and elephant viewing at Mvuu – herds of up to 120 spotted

Guests visiting Mvuu Camp and Lodge in Liwonde National Park are being treated to excellent elephant sightings at the moment. This month, guests on boat safaris and transfers were able to see large herds of up to 120 elephants swimming across the Shire River, from the bank at Namandanje. Elephants have also regularly been seen grazing by the river and are coming down to feed on the sweet reed grasses that prevail at this time of year.

We have also been able to enjoy several cheetah sightings during the day and night game drives that are offered at Mvuu. As a highlight for the month, two male cheetahs were seen taking down an impala just 100 metres away from the camp.
